After going through a difficult separation and having to give up custody of her three children, the famous socialite Ângela Diniz (Isis Valverde) meets Raul (Gabriel Braga Nunes), and believes she has found someone who loves her free spirit as much as she does. The overwhelming attraction makes the couple drop everything and live the dream of rebuilding their lives showered by passion and Veuve Clicquot on the beach. But the quiet life quickly takes a turn when Raul suddenly becomes an aggressive, violent and controlling man. The relationship rapidly degenerates into abuse and violence, giving rise to one of the most famous murder cases of all time in Brazil.
