Pretas is a documentary made during the pandemic and would be about a play called “No Name.” This play would bring the different layers of racism faced by black people. But, because of the lockdown, “no name” never happened.
With Pretas, the director Barbara Marques brings a little about herself as a black Latina living abroad trying to fit in some spaces where she feels she belongs. Pretas is the experience of black women navigating different fields in a racist society.
